Sister Bednar and I recently returned from an assignment in Italy where we attended a special Sunday conference that was streamed to meetinghouses and homes throughout the country. Our testimonies again were strengthened that God directs and inspires us when we are acting in faith—pressing steadfastly forward doing His work.
A few minutes before the devotional began, Elder Massimo De Feo, Europe Area President, mentioned to me that this would be the first time a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles would have the opportunity while in Italy to share a message with individuals across the entire nation.
What a wonderful occasion for those who might be unfamiliar with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to learn about the Savior, His love for them, and the Restoration of His gospel.
Consequently, the first part of my message was directed specifically to those not of our faith—introducing God’s plan of salvation and the covenant path He has prepared for us to return to Him, through His Son, Jesus Christ.
The second part of my message focused on the eternal importance of priesthood authority, covenants, and ordinances for members of the Church as we all seek to follow the Savior’s example and become more like Him.
We know from viewership information collected after the meeting that many people who do not usually attend our Church services in Italy were able to participate in this special worship service. Susan and I were grateful for the chance to be part of such a meaningful and memorable experience.
One of the greatest joys of my life is to testify of our Redeemer and invite others to follow Him. I invite all to learn of Jesus Christ and come unto Him.
